7 schools paint FEU in Inter-University tilt

        Far Eastern University (FEU organized the 6th Inter-University On-the-Spot Painting Contest at the FEU Campus grounds last January 19.

 

            “These paintings embody the three core values of the university: Fortitude, Excellence and Uprightness,” said Miguel Carpio, dean of institute of architecture and fine arts (IARFA) during the awarding ceremony at the ground floor of Technology Building.

 

            The participants were allowed to choose a spot anywhere within FEU to paint as their entries for the contest from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

            Eight entries were awarded out of 47, six were from Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST). John Gomugda of FEU was awarded second place. Raffy Napay and Rudolf Serrano of Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology seized the first and third place awards respectively.

 

            Bernis Aure, Ricardo Casagan, Angelito Musni Jr., Jesus Tejada all from EARIST and Ralph Allen Sevilla of University of the East (UE) gained honorable mentions.

Virgilio Audio and Lao Lin Ben, both Visual Artists and Benedicto Cabrera, National  Artist for Visual Arts served as judges of the event.

 

            The other schools that participated were FEATI University, University of Sto. Tomas, Bulacan State University and Kalayaan College.

 

            The said event was hosted by IARFA- Student Council with the supervision of Bernard Temporosa, IARFA Coordinator for painting.
