Amores represents FEU to nationwide conference

Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts student Weber Amores represented Far Eastern University in the nationwide Ayala Young Leaders Congress 2008 (AYLC). Amores also qualified as one of the 75 Outstanding Student Leaders in the Philippines.

AYLC is an annual search for the best student leaders in the nation with track records in academics, awards and leadership accomplishments in national and international arena. Now on its 9th year, the three-day congress involved workshops, lectures, outdoor activities, plenary sessions and discussions designed to hone the student leadership skills and geared towards a stronger sense of self and teamwork.

Each institutes nominated 10 qualified students to the congress. Amores, Jaycee Zoreta from Institute of Nursing and Ariel Almoite from Institute of Education were selected as the top three nominees of the University. AYLC chose 75 students from different universities to join in the congress and Amores qualified to be one of the delegates.

After series of interviews, Amores was chosen upon the recommendation of the selection board, which served as the panel in the initial interviews. The members of the board include Corporate Secretary of the Board of Trustees Angelina Jose and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Elizabeth Melchor.
